“The unique feature of the Mudhugger is the way it mounts directly onto the seatstays or swingarm. So on a full suspension bike it can be positioned close to the rear tyre for maximum protection and there are no issues with dropper posts or catching a knee and knocking the guard when dismounting.

The guard is available as a standard design or as a specifically adapted version for use with the Orange bikes (both 26in and 650b). The Orange version, which costs 70 kroner more, comes with extra-long zip ties and spare mounting tape to secure the guard to the Five’s fat swingarm. It mounts easily and quickly, though the use of zip-ties means there’s no quick release, but you could always try reusable ones. The Mudhugger looks surprisingly sleek and also does an excellent job at keep your kit and back of your bike clean. If you’re going to fit a rear guard, then make sure it’s this one.”
